Rand Paul’s Economic Advisors-John Garen
The Rand Paul for US Senate Exploratory has announced its newly formed Economic Council of Advisors. In an official statement by the Rand Paul camp:
Candidates for public office love to show off all the rich folks they have supporting them and money does seem to buy national office. The great irony of American politics is that just about everyone thinks money corrupts politics, yet money also seems to drive the news cycle.
But just maybe ideas might count for something.
The Rand Paul for US Senate Exploratory thinks big brains are as important as big wallets. So, today we are happy to announce our Economic Council of Advisors.
So today we will start our highlight of each of these council members.

Rand and bailouts.
We have all had bailouts on the tip of our tongue recently. Not many of us common folk praised this bailout out of mega corporations and banks as a great use of our tax dollars. I know I don’t like to give my hard earned money to a group of people that are unable to properly manage their affairs. I dont think that banks that charge me for some of the most outlandish fees, or US automakers who are so out-of-touch with car buyers, that they are unable to develop a suitable auto, should get one dime of my money for the simple fact of them being utter failures. Why not let them fail, and let a hungry, more responsible group, take their place? That seems to be the sentiment of the overwhelming majority of Americans. Yet here we have some major money being used to bail out companies that are failures at their business. Why? For what purpose? Do the politicians themselves have a stake in these companies survival? Maybe.
Rand Paul adamantly opposes these ridiculously wasteful bailouts. His first priority is to balance our budget and reduce spending, and rebuild the value of the US dollar. Let companies succeed because they bring value to their customers, not because they bring value to the politicians.
Lets get Rand into congress so we can get some real politician into Washington for a change. Give some for a change for the better.

Rand Paul on Freedom Watch
Rand Paul is starting to get the media coverage that his father Ron Paul never had until recently and was strangely absent during his campaign for President. This is great news for Dr. Paul’s push for Kentucky senate in 2010. Fox’s Freedom Watch, with Andrew “The Judge” Napolitano, did a short phone in interview with Rand on a recent show and they had a very insightful conversation.
Rand Paul officially announced his plan for an exploratory committee for the Kentucky senate seat held currently by Senator Jim Bunning. Dr. Paul also indicated Senators Bunnings open encouragement to other Republican candidates to go ahead and create an exploratory committee for the 2010 elections for those that had possible intentions of running. This would be a strong indication that Bunning is either reluctant to run in 2010, or flat out not planning to do so. Some more great news for Rand Paul. Rand also injected on the state of affairs in Kentucky and stated that the current leadership is out of touch with its constituents and a change in leadership is in order.
The Judge also questioned Rands stand on the closing of the GITMO prison camp (which unfortunately Rand never had a chance to answer) and his stand on the Patriot Act. Dr. Paul reinforced his opposition to the United States Patriot Act by stating he would be a strong proponent of moving to sunset any of its provisions as quickly as possible.
They also discussed Napolitano’s book; The Constitution in Exile: How the Federal Government Has Seized Power by Rewriting the Supreme Law of the Land and addressed how talks on protecting the 2nd amendment could not fulfilled while the ever increasing erosion of the 4th amendment. Great stuff and positive vibes for Rand Paul’s future run for the Senate in 2010.
